Research progress on the relationship between inflammation and chronic pain

Abstract: Inflammation and chronic pain are two common factors leading to a decline in the quality of life and functional impairments in the elderly, with a close relationship between them. This article reviews the relationship, mechanisms, and treatments of inflammation and chronic pain, aiming to provide a theoretical basis for a deeper understanding of the role of inflammation in the development of chronic pain, and to offer guidance for clinical practice.
