Abstract: Sarcopenia is an age-related degenerative disease characterized by progressive loss of skeletal muscle mass and function. In recent years, although significant progress has been made in the research on the pathogenesis of sarcopenia, its fundamental etiology and molecular mechanisms have not been fully clarified, and it involves a complex regulatory network. With the development of high-throughput technology, omics technology, with its powerful systematic analysis capabilities, has become an important tool for exploring potential biomarkers and related molecular mechanisms of sarcopenia. This paper reviews the current application status and latest progress of various omics methods (including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics) in sarcopenia research. This review aims to provide theoretical basis and new ideas for future research, promote the discovery of therapeutic targets and biomarkers, which has significant scientific value for the development of novel intervention strategies.
