Abstract: Cardiovascular diseases rank first among the causes of mortality in China. There are many risk factors for cardiovascular disease, and currently, the most widely recognized causative factors include advanced age, smoking, obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, poor dietary habits, and lack of physical exercise. With the aging of China’s population, the incidence of obesity combined with sarcopenia in people over 65 years old is increasing. The relationship between sarcopenic obesity and cardiovascular disease has been attracting much attention. This paper reviews the research progress on sarcopenic obesity and cardiovascular disease.
