Abstract: This article reviews and summarizes the application scenarios and practical value of artificial intelligence (AI) in the screening, early diagnosis, auxiliary pathological diagnosis and histological classification, assessment of disease severity, and prognosis evaluation of elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) complicated by lung cancer. It indicates that AI, by integrating imaging techniques, machine learning and other technologies, can break through the limitations of traditional diagnosis and treatment, and significantly enhance the diagnostic accuracy. However, in current clinical applications, AI is confronted with issues including privacy concerns, ethical issues, and data standardization. In the future, it is necessary to further optimize databases and improve relevant standard systems to standardize and promote the application of AI in the diagnosis and treatment of elderly patients with COPD complicated by lung cancer.
