Abstract: Late-life depression (LLD), characterized by complex pathogenesis and heterogeneous clinical manifestations, has become a significant public health challenge in aging societies. This review systematicly synthesizes the latest advancements in genomic, epigenomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, metabolomic, and multi-omics integrated studies on LLD, provides novel biomarkers and therapeutic strategies for early diagnosis, prognosis assessment, and personalized treatment. Future research should focus on achieving breakthroughs in large-scale cross-ethnic validation, biomarkers translation, and age-related interventions.
