Effects of project management on bowel preparation in the elderly patients undergoing enteroscopy treatment

Abstract: Objective To explore the effects of project management on the cleansing rate after the bowel preparation in the elderly patients undergoing enteroscopy treatment. Methods Project management in the bowel preparation was carried out from July to December 2020. A total of 70 elderly patients treated by enteroscopy in our department during this period were enrolled in this study. And 70 elderly patients from January to June 2020 were enrolled as control group.The cleansing rate after the bowel preparation and the nursing job satisfaction of the discharged patients in the two groups were recorded . Results After the implementation of the project management, the intestinal cleansing rate of the elderly patients undergoing enteroscopy increased from 94.78% to 97.99%, and the nursing job satisfaction of the discharged patients increased from 98.82% to 99.9%. Conclusions Project management can improve the bowel cleansing rate after the bowel preparation in the elderly patients undergoing enteroscopy treatment. It is beneficial for improving the treatment effect of enteroscopy, nursing quality and patients'satisfaction.
