Abstract: Osteosarcopenic obesity syndrome (OSO) has attracted much attention in recent years. This syndrome not only affects an individual’s bone and muscle health, but also closely related to the occurrence and development of cardiovascular diseases. This article reviews the diagnosis and epidemiological characteristics of OSO, the association mechanism between OSO and cardiovascular diseases, as well as relevant clinical evidence. It proposes that in the future, a unified diagnostic standard for OSO should be established, OSO-related indicators should be incorporated into cardiovascular disease risk assessment and management, and research on the shared pathological mechanisms and risk factors between OSO and cardiovascular diseases should be strengthened, ultimately aiming to construct a scientific and systematic diagnosis and treatment system.

Key words: osteosarcopenic obesity, cardiovascular diseases, osteoporosis, sarcopenia, obesity
