Abstract:
ObjectiveTo treat grievous hemorrhoidal diseases in elderly patients with modified procedure for prolapse and hemorrhoids (PPH), and to observe the efficacy and summarize the clinical experience. MethodsFrom June 2007 to June 2009,46 patients aged ≥60 years,who suffered from Ⅲ,Ⅳ degree hemorrhids with bump emersion and bleeding of dominating symptoms,underwent the operation of modified PPH.The clinical data and longterm outcome of the patients was retrospectively analyzed. ResultsWith less hurt,lighter pain and faster recovery,modified PPH showed significant effects in controlling bleeding,preventing emersion and decreasing accompanying syndrome. ConclusionsPPH might be used to treat grievous hemorrhoidal diseases in elderly patients.
