【Abstract】 Objective To evaluate surgical therapy and the effect of obstructive jaundice caused by cancer thrombi in the bile duct.MethodsFrom 1990 to 2002, 9 patients with  hepatocellular carcinoma or bile duct carcinoma and bile duct thrombi(BDT) who underwent surgical intervention were retrospectively analyzed.ResultsAmong all the patients,four primary tumors and cholangio carcinoma bolt radical resection,5 regular palliative cholangio carcinoma bolt removal and T-tube drainage.5 patients via bile duct cut tumor emboli clear signs and symptoms and alleviate postoperative jaundice,1-4 months,the average survival time were 4-6 months,4 patients after left lobe or cholangio carcinoma eradicative resection of 1.5-2 years recurrence or distant metastasis.ConclusionsJaundice caused by cancer thrombi in the bile duct was not the operation contraindication,surgical intervention could be an effective way of treatment.
