Abstract:

ＯｂｊｅｃｔｉｖｅTo observe the outcome of patients with corneal perforation associated with ulceration after amniotic membrane transplantation combined with conjunctiveal flap covering.ＭｅｔｈｏｄｓTen patients (10 eyes) were treated by amniotic membrane transplantation combined with conjunctiveal flap covering. Continuous use of bandage contact lens and eyedrops were given in the second day postoperatively. All patients were followed up for 312 months.ＲｅｓｕｌｔｓThe ocular surface became stabilized and healing of corneal perforation was obtained after the operation. Three patients with secondary glaucoma received cyclocryosurgery. During followup,no recurrence of ulceration or severe complication was noted.ＣｏｎｃｌｕｓｉｏｎｓAmniotic membrane transplantation combined with conjunctiveal flap covering is a safe and effective method for patients with corneal perforation due to ulceration.
